Headteacher's Welcome.

‘Live, love and learn and let the light of Jesus shine.

My name is Ann-Marie Handford and I have the pleasure of being the Headteacher at St. Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School, Wigton.

St. Cuthbert’s Primary School is a very special place where each and every child is an important part of our school family and where children come first.

We are a happy school where everyone works hard to encourage children to enjoy learning, achieve their best, behave well, support each other and grow in confidence.

In our school, we seek to meet the needs of each individual child.  We celebrate diversity and teach children to recognise and respect people's individual differences as well as similarities, celebrating every child in our care as a unique and wonderful individual that God created: recognising that every child was created with their own personality, talents and skills which we have been given the opportunity to nurture and inspire.

At St Cuthbert’s, everyone is encouraged to contribute to the life of the school and to those wider communities to which we belong.  We aim to provide our young people with the wide range of skills necessary to enable them to make a valuable contribution to an ever-changing world.

As you browse through this site, and we hope that you will take the time to do so, you will discover all that St. Cuthbert’s has to offer. We hope to get to know you and your children when you join our school, and look forward to meeting you in the near future

Mrs Ann-Marie Handford
