French is introduced for children in KS2.

 

St. Cuthbert’s believe that the learning of a foreign language provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for the pupils. Pupils develop communication and literacy skills that lay the foundation for future language learning. 

The learning of a foreign language provides a medium for cross-curricular links and for reinforcement of knowledge, skills and understanding developed in other subjects.

Topics, Coverage and Skills

We cover the following topics in French. Due the upheavel of the past 18 months we decided to repeat the Year 3 and 4 curriculum in Year 5 and 6.
